Congregational Committees
Budget & Finance: Prepares and submits to the Board of Trustees a detailed estimate of the income and current expenses of the Congregation for the ensuing year and manages all financial aspects of the temple, as well as advises the Board concerning all financial matters requiring consideration and action.
College Contact: Plans, develops, promotes, and implements programs designed to maintain temple contact with the children of Congregants who attend college.
Comprehensive Planning: Develops and explores long-range policies confronting the Congregation, including, in consultation with the Operational Vice-President, plans relating to the renovation or improvement of our temple facility.
Congregational Concern: Helps Congregants during trying life cycle events, reaching out to temple members in times of illness, death, birth in the family, or as needed.
Continuing Education: The Continuing Education Committee plans events and classes to enhance our Jewish experiences. Our Rabbi and Cantor teach classes on a bi-weekly and weekly schedule throughout the year and all members of the congregation are welcome.
We also offer a “Movie on a Sunday Afternoon” program, showing 4 movies with Jewish themes during the year. Our congregation members and the community are welcome.
If interest exists, we can plan for Sunday morning Book Discussion and Sunday evening Lecture/Lite Dinner programs.

Decorating: The Committee reviews and prepares, as requested, design and decorating schemes to enhance the beautification of the temple, designs and decorates the lobby display case, and accepts gifts or donated items to our building.
Fund-Raising: Plans, develops, implements, and supervises fund-raising activities and events for the temple and coordinates with Sisterhood, Brotherhood, and the Religious School to avoid conflicts and duplication of fund-raising efforts.
Housing: Advises the Board of Trustees with respect to adequacy of temple properties and facilities for religious services, the Religious School, and other temple functions, and coordinates and supervises the repair, maintenance, and improvement thereof.
Legal: Advises the Board of Trustees with respect to any legal problems which may affect the Congregation and prepares employment contracts for all professional staff.
Library: Operates and maintains the temple’s library and assists the Rabbi in cataloguing books and in continuing the revitalization of the library.
Membership: Develops, promotes, and implements a program for the recruitment of new members into our temple family, including updating new member guidelines, planning and coordinating Open Houses, and identifying potential new members.
Outreach: Develops programs for embracing, guiding, and supporting those seeking a return to, or entering into for the first time, active Jewish lives in keeping with the philosophy of the Reform movement.
Public Relations: Takes charge of any supervisory matters relating to the furtherance of good public relations of the Congregation, and promotes the viability of the temple and its activities through the public media.
Ritual: Addresses the temple’s overall religious experience and, in consultation with the Clergy, advises the Board of Trustees as to all matters relating to the temple’s ritual aspects, which need to be developed and implemented in keeping with the philosophy of the Reform movement.
Religious School: Works closely the Director of Education, the Clergy, and the Educational Vice-President in advising the Board of Trustees with respect to the regulations and administration of the Religious School, including the review and recommended development of school goals, policies, programs, procedures, and curriculum, in keeping with the philosophy of the Reform movement.
Social: Develops, plans, promotes, and implements social events and activities for the Congregation and supervises or coordinates any social activities of the temple.
Social Action: Involves our temple and Congregants in the needs of society and our community and accomplishes the goal of Tikkun Olam – Helping to Repair the World as we pursue social justice.
Web/Internet: Operates and maintains the temple’s Web Site (http://www.mytemple.org), Social Media, computers, and Internet connections, as well as the posting of material and information on the Web Site submitted to the Webmaster.
Youth Group: Works with the temple’s Director of Education to plan, promote, and implement programming for the temple’s Youth Groups in keeping with the philosophy of the Reform movement.
